Michelle’s students won a highly-competitive Department of Education contest called Future Now. Out of all the after school programs, in NYC public schools in all five boroughs, Michelle Slonim’s Urban Arts Partnership IS 145 after-school theater class was one of those selected to attend a full day workshop in Manhattan to learn from producers of 20/20 and Public Broadcasting. Students learned key concepts such as “spin”, citizen journalism, documentaries, and more. According to Michelle’s students, the highlight of the full day integrated workshop was the delicious lunch sponsored by the DOE. Yum.
